Pros
- Modern recreation of Game Boy DMG. Device feels premium and refined.
- Not a typical handheld. It tries to innovate in a stagnating industry by introducing new features such as the touchpad, volume wheel and fingerprint reader.
- Powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, this is the most powerful vertical handheld you can buy in the market today. No issues emulating any Gamecube or PS2 games.
- Controls are one of the best from AYANEO. They are not clicky. D-pad has no false diagonals.
- Battery life is ridiculously impressive. It gives up to 16 hours of game time.
- Shoulder buttons are customizable.
- Volume wheel is way more functional than separate buttons to increase/decrease volume.
- Super high pixel density OLED screen, offering exceptional clarity and viewing angles.
- Speakers are crisp and loud. They have a good amount of bass.
Cons
- 8:7 screen isn’t ideal for 16:9 systems like the Switch or PSP. The device’s power feels mismatched with the games that are best suited for its display.
- Steep asking price. Retro edition is $600!
- Touchpad is not good for dual analog stick games.
- Non functional function buttons.
- Trigger buttons are digital and not analog.
- OLED screen isn’t bright enough for outdoor gaming on a sunny day, nor is it dim enough for gaming in the dark.
- Fan can be quite audible at higher performance settings.
- CPU performance throttles over time unlike the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
