Retroid just dropped their official grip for the Retroid Pocket 5, months after the handheld’s release. For anyone who’s been gaming on the RP5 for more than 10 minutes at a time, this might be the accessory you’ve been waiting for.
It’s a simple snap-on grip that comes in black, purple, and transparent to match the handheld. It’s lightweight and doesn’t add noticeable bulk. The cutouts are all properly done — USB-C, headphone jack, SD card slot, power button, volume rocker — no weird compromises. Build quality seems solid. Early feedback says it’s comfy, smooth, and more ergonomic than expected.
One small downside: once it’s on, the original case probably won’t fit anymore. The grip adds some width, so do check if your current case supports it before buying.
At $15, it’s reasonably priced and does exactly what it should. Not a must-have for everyone, but if you’ve already invested in the RP5, it’s a sensible upgrade. Comfort matters — and this grip makes a good case for itself.
