Pros
- Tremendously powerful in a beautiful and compact package.
- The AMOLED screen is bright and beautiful. On the black version of the RP5, the bezels almost vanish, blending into the device’s shell. This makes playing 4:3 games feel incredible, as it creates the illusion of no black bars, unlike when playing on a typical 16:9 screen.
- Excellent controls.
- Backplate is interchangeable.
- The battery life is excellent when playing less demanding games, thanks to the efficiency of the Snapdragon 865 CPU, which helps conserve power while maintaining smooth performance.
- Front firing speakers are quite good.
Cons
- Noticeable and audible clicks when pressing the buttons.
- Some PS2 games may not run at 100% speed at 1080p.
- Ergonomics is good but not perfect. The analog sticks may be too close to the d-pad and face buttons.
- D-pad is placed on top instead of the left analog stick.
