Pros
- One of the best sub-$40 handheld devices you can get your hands on.
- The PowKiddy V90 uses a Nokia phone battery, which you can easily replace and swap.
- The design of the clamshell is akin to the GBA SP – very nostalgic.
- It is able to handle most 4th generation console emulators. It also comes pre-loaded with a variety of games although this is not exactly legal.
- Compact and light, it fits effortlessly into a pocket.
- If you are not a fan of the pre loaded firmware, you can always flash it with a custom firmware which significantly improves the user experience.
Cons
- Build quality is far from great. It feels like it is made of cheap, thin plastic and feels very light. It doesn’t match the quality shown in the renders.
- Battery lasts only about 3 hours.
- Although claimed to be able to play PS1 games, it isn’t always the case. You may find it struggling with some heavier PS1 games.
- Screen tearing issue.
