The Retroid Pocket 3 is a difficult device to explain and review. It is by no means a bad one but its glory has been short-lived with the release of its younger brother Retroid Pocket 3+ just months after its release. The low price point and new design and screen is an upgrade over the Retroid Pocket 2+ but utility of this widescreen is limited by its CPU/GPU which can handle up to a PSP.
Pros
- Great value and new design!
- Powerful CPU/GPU combination at this price point.
- New 16:9 widescreen allows you to play newer generation games.
- Compared to its predecessor, the overall ergonomic has improved.
- You get an actual right analog joystick.
Cons
- Limited use of its widescreen as only PSP games make use of it.
- There have been reports of quality issues.
- Made obsolete with the release of Retroid Pocket 3+.
