Advantages of Asus ROG Ally

  • It is a Windows based device so you can play your Steam/Xbox Game Pass titles on it.
  • Powered by the custom AMD Ryzen Z1 series processor which can be powerful enough for modern triple A games at lower detail settings.
  • Larger 120 Hz display.
  • Supports eGPU if more power is needed.
  • Able to emulate PS3 and Wii U unlike the Odin 2.

Advantages of AYN Odin 2

  • Its cheapest configuration is half the price of the Ally.
  • Powered by one of the most powerful CPUs you can find on a mobile device.
  • Smaller and more pocketable than the ROG Ally.
  • Hall sensor based controls are precise and comfortable.
  • Way better battery life especially when emulating older gen consoles.

TLDR

Between these two, our recommendation goes to the AYN Odin 2 as it is a better balanced device, more accessible and still equally as powerful. The Asus ROG Ally is a great device too especially if playing Windows based games is a must.
