Advantages of Asus ROG Ally
- It is a Windows based device so you can play your Steam/Xbox Game Pass titles on it.
- Powered by the custom AMD Ryzen Z1 series processor which can be powerful enough for modern triple A games at lower detail settings.
- Larger 120 Hz display.
- Supports eGPU if more power is needed.
- Able to emulate PS3 and Wii U unlike the Odin 2.
Advantages of AYN Odin 2
- Its cheapest configuration is half the price of the Ally.
- Powered by one of the most powerful CPUs you can find on a mobile device.
- Smaller and more pocketable than the ROG Ally.
- Hall sensor based controls are precise and comfortable.
- Way better battery life especially when emulating older gen consoles.
TLDR
Between these two, our recommendation goes to the AYN Odin 2 as it is a better balanced device, more accessible and still equally as powerful. The Asus ROG Ally is a great device too especially if playing Windows based games is a must.
