Pros
- Like the R35S, this device is great value at just $50. While keeping the price unchanged, they managed to improve the R36S over is predecessor in many ways.
- It is powered by the Rockchip RK3326 which allows you to play up to Dreamcast and N64 games. Not all will run at full speed but quite a number of them well.
- Slightly bigger than the R35S, reduces fatigue during extended gaming sessions.
- Battery is now replaceable.
- 2.5D screen is a slight improvement over the flat display on the R35S. It is still a bright and crisp display.
- Joysticks moved to the bottom improving the overall ergonomics of the device.
- New transparent black and purple colors are cool!
Cons
- D-pad is a little on the stiff side but it can be fixed with a simple mod. Check out Taki’s video below.
- Loud L1/R1/L2/R2 buttons.
- Still no Wi-Fi although you can use a Wi-Fi adapter with it via the OTG port.
