Advantages of Retroid Pocket 2+
- You can get one used for a really low price.
Advantages of Retroid Pocket 2S
- The T610 is not a huge improvement over the T310 but it does allow you to play some PlayStation 2 games. PS1 and older consoles can also be played at higher resolutions than on the RP2+.
- Much better hall sensor based controls.
- More color options and there’s a metal edition too!
TLDR
The Retroid Pocket 2S is a worthy successor to the Retroid Pocket 2+. If you are heavy on 4:3 retro games, the RP2S is one of the better consoles you can get in the market.
Upgrading from the 2+ to the 2s and im beyond excited!
So I preordered my 2+ November of 2021 for the original preorder price of $100 recieved pretty early in I believe the late weeks of January maybe the early weeks of February, but this was before most had a good setup guide available and I kind of just figured it out myself. After over a year of use the device capabilities were exactly what I needed and why I didn’t jump on the 3,3+, or flip even though they were intriguing especially with L3 and R3 capabilities. In fact the L3 and R3 capabilities are one of the main selling points for the 2s in comparison to the 2+. The reason I am finally upgrading is due to; the form factor, android 11, 2 additional buttons, and L3 + R3
Great choice! Personally I can’t stand playing 4:3 games on a widescreen, hence I think the Pocket 2S is a nice upgrade to the 2+.
…the 2+ is the same aspect ratio display as the 2S, so I don’t know what you are talking about. They are both 4:3 displays.
Allow me to explain. I know both are 4:3 devices. There are better or more powerful devices than the Pocket 2S but they are unlikely to have a 4:3 screen. I can’t stand playing 4:3 games on a non 4:3 screen. Hence the Pocket 2S is a great device if you are playing mostly 4:3 games. Hope this explains and happy gaming!
