Razer has been known to create premium gaming accessories. At $400, the Razer Edge is Razer’s first gaming handheld. The Razer Edge is actually made up of two parts – a tablet and the Kishi controllers and is powered by very decent hardware.
Pros
- Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 which is a flagship CPU.
- Comes with a front facing camera although in the context of retro gaming, what is it used for?
- The Razer Kishi controller is great and is detachable. It can be used for other phones.
- Long lasting battery life.
- Comes with a beautiful AMOLED screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate.
Cons
- Not exactly a dedicated handheld gaming console. The same Razer Edge can be ‘achieved’ if you just buy the Razer Kishi controllers and attach your phone to it.
- Bezels could have been thinner.
- 20:9 aspect ratio may result in a waste of screen space as it is not optimized for gaming. Most games will have thick black bars on both sides.
